To lessen the impact, the U.S. Department of Labor and your state and local officials have designed a system to help workers find new jobs or get training for new careers. It is called the America's Jobs Network Rapid Response.

  6. Rapid Response Assistance for Employers

    The Rapid Response Program is triggered by a WARN notice and is designed to assist employers and their employees in the case of a layoff or facility closure. A Rapid Response Team including representatives from the local One-Stop Career Center and from EDD will work with company representatives and employees in advance of the layoff date to develop employment transition services. Available services include informational briefings, workshops, on-site registration for training programs and unemployment insurance benefits, and links to community services.
